A morning of birding started on the Ocean City beach with good looks at several Sanderling (pic). A quick breakfast coffee was long enough to spot that yesterday's Bonaparte was a Laughing Gull, so plus one, minus one. Back over the bridge to Castaways campground found a lot of birders with scopes, enough to see loads of Brant and three Marbled Godwit. Round to the Bayside development pond for a female Redhead, some Ruddy Ducks, Wigeon, Coots, a Common Gallinule, a Killdeer and several Tree Swallows. Then on to Assateague, where the Bayside campground Marsh Trail gave up a Black-bellied Plover (pic below) and a White-winged Scoter. Eight new birds for the weekend!
