KITES

One final day enjoying the intoxicating freedom of a car, so I decided to take work on the road and go on a kite hunt.  First stop, a Mississippi Kite nest on the other side of DC. I saw two juveniles on the nest (one also flying nearby).
Then onwards to try again for the Swallow-tailed Kite in MD.  After 45 minutes or so ADH spotted it drifting along the tree line. Such an exciting bird!!!

So life birds 708 and 709, year birds 428 and 429. And two crackers. A successful morning.
