Today, my three-year old nephew Thomas saw these UK birds: Egret, Heron,Mallard male and female,White duck, Nuthatch, Pigeon, Great tits, Coal tits, Blue tits, Moor hen (so that is 9 as the white duck is probably a domesticated mallard). Previosly this year he has seen: Garden sparrows, Hedge sparrows, Pied wagtail, Long tailed tit, Gold finch, Robin, Song thrush, Greater spotted woodpecker, Jenny wren, Starling, Chaffinch, Magpie, Blackbird, Ring necked doves, Woodcock, English partidge, French partridge, Crow, Jackdaw, Male female and mallenaic phesants, Mitchcombe blue back pheasant, Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Chicken, Turkey, Goose, Black headed gull, Herring gull
Garden warbler, Redwing, Yellow hammer, Greenfinch, Jay, Kingfisher, making a grand total of 43. So he is 6 birds ahead of schedule (assuming that the partridges and pheasants are all distinct species)!
