North Point State Park (+33)

Beautiful sunny day in stark contrast to yesterday. North Point State Park is probably busy in the summer, but was beautiful and almost empty of walkers today. First new bird was the king of hte Maryland woodpeckers - a Pileated Woodpecker, which was really an amazing bird to see. Next, some Blue Jays, an American Kestrel and a Hermit Thrush. Lots of non-new birds too: bald eagle, turkey vulture, red-bellied and hairy woodpeckers, cardinals, Titmice, chickadees among others. (pic: No. 68 Blue Jay and young Great Blue Heron No. 64).
