A fun outing in unseasonably warm weather with 19 species seen in total, with a probably Double- crested Cormorant leaving the lake as I arrived. The only disappointment was a lack of raptors of any kind, although some over-excited crows did point me to a red fox running across the grass. New birds were American Robin (pic), Fish Crow, House Finch, American Wigeon (pic), American Black Duck (pic), American Coot (pic) and Great Blue Heron (pic). So lots of common US first-of-the-year birds. Proabbly the most exciting was the wigeon, of which there were about 6.
