24 degrees Fahrenheit and a beautiful sunrise over the lake. Hundreds of Canada Geese were making a racket, but didn't scare off several Common Mergansers (Goosanders), Pied-billed and Horned (Slavonian) Grebe, Bufflehead and a pair of Ruddy Ducks. In the woods, I saw Downy and Red-bellied Woodpeckers, Chickadees and White-breasted Nuthatch and on my way out, Juncos and
an Eastern Bluebird.
Addendum: A late-morning outing with the girls showed up a pair of Red-tailed Hawks, opposite the entrance to Northwest Regional Park and over a hundred Ring-necked Ducks on Liberty Reservoir.
