Church retreat weekend gave me an excuse to visit Balckwater for the first time. The sheer numbers of Canada Geese and Red-winged Blackbirds were reason enough to go. I also saw my first ever Snow Geese, and year Common Grackle, Brown Creeper and Fox Sparrow (particularly pleased with that one, as I only saw one all last year; pic). The retreat also gave me Lesser Scaup and my first Carolina Wrens of the year.
