Banyule Flats

Conference over at lunchtime, so we fit in an afternoon outing.  It was a good day, with only a very brief shower and over 40 species of birds. The new birds being Australian White and Straw-necked Ibis (about 20 of those arriving around dusk), Golden-headed Cisticola, Red-rumped Parrot, a Black-winged Kite hovering over the wetland, and a Brown Goshawk. Also a couple of quails that were probably Brown Quails, but I can't find any record of them at the site.  And kangaroos. Actual kangaroos. Four of them. Jumping. Amazing (and some possums on the way home!).
