Lapland Longspurs and Loggerhead!

Today's birds, brought to you by the letter L, were a Lapland Longspur, picking around among a group of larks on Oland Road near Frederick, and a Loggerhead Shrike, which has returned to the same scrubby field outside Hagerstown for several winters now. In spite of my afternoon birding plan working it great, my success was far more down to spotting Warren Stroebel, who was much more skilled at looking for the same birds as I was.
Two Horned Larks, almost invisible in the field, before we saw the Longspur.
 The field in Hagerstown...
... and if you squint just right, you may see a Loggerhead shrike in this.
