New birds are fewer and further between now. An hour's walk in a foot of snow at Cylburn yielded no new birds and an afternoon walk at Middle Branch Park only one. As well as a Great Blue Heron (whose wings really were blue when I startled him), highlights were a Belted Kingfisher, Hooded Mergansers and Cardinals in the snow.(pic: The standard sea gull around these parts is the Ring-Billed Gull No. 24)
