CNR Trail and Paper Mill Flats (+115)

Snuck off first thing to make use of the rental car, to look up the old railway trail. A coolish summer morning with a very different selection of birds to places I often go: Ruby-throated Hummingbird (first look at a perched bird this year); Scarlet Tanagers; Chickadees and Titmice; Ovenbird; Wood Thrush; Indigo Bunting. I saw two Vireos - White-eyed and Red-eyed Vireo.
Afterwards I dropped up to the Papermill Flats Bridge over Loch Raven, and saw a LOT of Cliff Swallows (pic; and some Barn Swallows), Great Blue and Green Herons, Killdeer, and a Wood Duck with young.
