The first day of the second half of the year and I decided to start the long weekend early. Not a bad morning for birding at Swan Creek - sunny and warm, . 30-odd birds seen, highlights being Least Terns, Glossy Ibis, Great and Little Blue (pics) Herons, Killdeer, Egrets, Orioles (Orchard definitely and possibly Baltimore) and one new bird: a Blue Grosbeak (below), which was a female and so not blue.
