Arriving at Hong Kong mid-afternoon, I managed to pick out a distinctive Crested Myna from the car. We then spent the rest of the daylight indoors, so no more birds on Day 1. I slept 8-10pm, then Day 2 started early with a walk at 2 am in the vain hope of stimulating sleep. While out, I followed some bird-like noises to find a Blue Whistling-Thrush. Both birds are seen on more than 25% of HK December ebird checklists.
